Description

In recent decades, translation has been experiencing a phase of renewed interest. Recent trends in intercultural communication studies, ethnology, and psycholinguistics on transcoding processes explain the increased interest in this discipline. Moreover, translation is becoming increasingly necessary due to the intensification of international exchanges and the profound geopolitical changes of our times.

With its four chapters, plus the Appendix, the volume aims to provide a comprehensive contribution to the history, theory, and practice of translation: on one hand within the framework of interdisciplinary studies between translation studies, theoretical and applied linguistics, and on the other within the scope of contrastive analysis that studies the relationships between Italian and Greek. The author does not limit herself to a theoretical and descriptive approach but delves into issues related to the translation of the Italian-Greek language pair, with particular attention to the aspect of learning Italian as a foreign language and also from a professional translation perspective.
