Ioannis C. Demetriou

(Ioannis C. Demetriou), Mathematician, M.Phil. Computer Science, Ph.D. Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics, University of Cambridge. He studied as a scholar of the State Scholarships Foundation. He received the J.T. Knight Prize in Mathematics from the University of Cambridge and awards for some of his research papers. He is a Professor of Mathematics & Informatics at the Department of Economics of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Founder and director of the MSc program "Business Administration, Analytics and Information Systems". His research interests include the development of theory and algorithms for numerical approximations and optimization, accompanied by the development of general-purpose software. His software packages are installed in the scientific libraries ACM Transactions on Mathematical Software and Computer Physics Communications. He publishes in reputable international scientific journals. He participates in scientific committees of international conferences and editorial boards of journals.
