This book consists of a collection of scientific articles/studies by the author, which address Greek-Turkish Relations. A multitude of related issues are approached and analyzed from the perspective of International Law and Diplomacy, while conclusions, findings, and proposals are also presented.
Specifically, issues of International Law of the Sea and Greek-Turkish Relations are analyzed, and the arguments of Greece, Cyprus, and Turkey on matters falling under the International Law of the Sea are evaluated from a legal and political perspective. The issue of the appeal to the International Court for the delimitation of the continental shelf and Exclusive Economic Zone between Greece and Turkey is presented. The issue of the Greek minority in Turkey is examined from a legal viewpoint. Additionally, the international crimes committed in Cyprus by Turkey, the issue of missing persons in Cyprus, and the right to truth are analyzed, as well as other primary issues regarding the resolution of the Cyprus problem. The problematic existence of legal fictions on fundamental aspects of the Cyprus resolution is also discussed.
The aforementioned and other issues are analyzed, and conclusions and proposals are presented in accordance with international legality, which could form part of Greek Foreign Policy, while simultaneously promoting International Law and Diplomacy.
The guiding principle in writing these texts was to highlight national issues related to Greek-Turkish Relations, alongside the realization of the fundamental purposes of International Law, as enshrined in Article 1 of the Charter of the United Nations: namely, i) the maintenance of international peace and security, ii) the peaceful settlement of disputes, iii) friendly relations among states, iv) international cooperation in addressing and resolving international problems, and v) respect for human rights.
