The inauguration of the new souvenir shop “UOA STORE” and the new offices of the University of Athens Property Utilization and Management Company (EADPPA) at 33 Academias Street was completed with absolute success.
On the crowded sidewalk of Academias Street, a multitude of academic staff and administrative employees of the University, as well as citizens, gathered to support this new venture. University students also made a strong presence, showing great enthusiasm for the new products.
The University of Athens, following the standards of top universities worldwide, introduced an innovative initiative with the “UOA STORE,” offering a wide range of new products that meet the needs of students and all academic staff of the University, enhancing the sense of university identity.
The “UOA STORE” was inaugurated by the Rector of the University of Athens, Mr. Gerasimos Siassos, the President of the Company, Mr. Nikolaos Thomaidis, the CEO, Mr. Marios Tsakas, and the Vice President, Ms. Asimina Antonarakou.
The Rector of the University of Athens, Professor Gerasimos Siassos, in his address, emphasized, among other things, that “it is a special day, as today the University takes another step towards opening up to society, serving the strategic goal of enhancing extroversion and internationalization. Today we inaugurate the new souvenir shop “UOA Store” and state-of-the-art facilities where the “headquarters” of the University of Athens has been developed, playing a pivotal role in the management and utilization of its assets. Of course, the development of all these facilities and actions required many efforts to overcome bureaucratic obstacles and difficulties. Our goal is to achieve the best possible results for the benefit of the University and society in general. On behalf of the Rector’s Authorities, I would like to congratulate the President of the University of Athens Property Utilization and Management Company and Vice President of the Board of Directors, Professor Mr. Nikos Thomaidis, who is the “soul” of the Company and all that has been created in recent years. Also, many congratulations to the CEO, Professor Mr. Marios Tsakas, as well as to all the members of the Board of Directors.”
The President of the Company, Mr. N. Thomaidis, pointed out that “a vision is being completed for the relocation of the Company to new modern facilities that serve its developmental purpose. EADPPA acquires a new souvenir shop following the standards of major academic institutions abroad. This is another action within the framework of extroversion and promotion of the University and its Schools. At the center of all the Company’s actions is the creation of means and resources for the development and promotion of the Institution, as well as the enhancement of its educational and research activities.”
Finally, the CEO, Mr. M. Tsakas, emphasized that “the new offices of the Company will house strategic initiatives that promote innovation and the utilization of the University’s assets. The pioneering action underscores our commitment to an ambitious plan towards creating modern, innovative solutions that will contribute to the development of the Institution.”
